Start your Morocco Tour in Agadir with an early departure to the beautiful Dades Valley. On the way, you’ll pass through the charming town of Taznakht, famous for its traditional Berber rugs and colorful crafts. Next, visit the historic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning kasbahs and as a backdrop for many famous films. Explore its ancient architecture and picturesque alleyways. As you drive through the High Atlas Mountains, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views and fascinating landscapes. Arrive in the Dades Valley, renowned for its dramatic rock formations and lush oases. Settle into your accommodation for the night, relax, and prepare for the next part of your Moroccan Tour.
On the second day of our Morocco desert Tour, we start with a delightful breakfast, preparing to explore the Dades Gorges. As we travel, we’ll pass through vibrant Berber villages in the Dades Valley, with the breathtaking sight of a thousand kasbahs dotting the landscape. Upon reaching Tinghir, known for its lush palm grove, our journey continues to the awe-inspiring Todgha Gorge. We’ll have lunch on our way to Erfoud. When we arrive in Merzouga, your camels will be waiting for you. Today, you’ll ride the camels to the desert camp, where you’ll spend the night under the stars.
The Merzouga desert is a popular tourist destination in Morocco, known for its stunning sand dunes and diverse wildlife, including camels. After breakfast, we will set out to explore the Merzouga Desert, where you can enjoy activities such as camel riding, sandboarding, and hiking. You will experience the breathtaking sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of Morocco’s two Saharan ergs. Located in the province of Errachidia within the Drâa-Tafilalet region, Erg Chebbi spans over an area of 22 km². The highest dune in Erg Chebbi reaches a height of 150 meters, and the dunes shift about 10 meters each year due to the wind. We’ll spend the morning exploring Merzouga, visiting nomad families, and the Khamlia village. In the afternoon, we’ll depart for Ouarzazate, passing through Rissani, known for its local market. By the end of the day, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, a city that embodies the beauty and magic of traditional Morocco.
Ouarzazate, the capital of Ouarzazate Province in the Souss-Massa-Drâa region of Morocco, sits at an elevation of 1,160 meters (3,810 feet) and is the largest city in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. After breakfast, we will explore Ouarzazate, a city nestled in the Atlas Mountains known for its stunning architecture and rich culture. You will visit various mosques and kasbahs that dot the landscape. The city also boasts several museums and art galleries, making it the perfect place to learn about Moroccan history and culture. After lunch, we will head to Ait Benhaddou, famous for its well-preserved architecture dating back to the 11th century. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, Ait Benhaddou offers a glimpse into Morocco’s rich history and culture. You can explore the site’s many buildings, including the mosque, the kasbah (fortified home), and the granaries. There are also traditional shops and restaurants within the site, providing a great opportunity to experience Moroccan food and culture. Later in the day, we will continue to Marrakech. By the end of the day, you will be at your hotel in the heart of the medina. This concludes your 4-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.
